Amanda Bynes is still seeking treatment for her ongoing struggles, a source reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“Amanda’s at a treatment center for stress and anxiety,” the child star’s lawyer David Esquibias confirms in the new issue of Us. “She’s not there for drug or alcohol issues.”

Bynes, 34, previously revealed via Instagram in May that she spent two months in treatment to work on “coping skills to help with [her] social anxiety” as she took a break from getting her Bachelor’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. The Amanda Show alum has been under conservatorship since 2014 when she suffered a string of mental health and substance abuse issues.

“Update: Getting my Bachelor’s degree from FIDM. Taking online classes, trying to get a 4.0 GPA :],” Bynes wrote on May 23. “Looking forward to starting my online store in the future #goals.”

According to an insider, every day is an uphill battle for the former actress, who debuted a new tattoo that reads, “See you on the other side,” earlier this month.

“It’s going to be an ongoing struggle for the rest of her life,” the source tells Us.

The Nickelodeon alum has support, however. The source notes that her fiancé, Paul Michael, is able to visit her in treatment.

“Still engaged to tha love of my life Paul. Hope you’re all staying safe!” Bynes gushed last month via Instagram.

Bynes and Michael announced their engagement in February. While she previously announced they were expecting their first child, Esquibias told Us last month that Bynes is not pregnant.

Amanda Bynes is sharing a life update after staying quiet on social media for the past two months.

On Saturday, the She’s the Man actress, 34, posted a selfie on Instagram alongside a brief message on what she’s been up since spending the last two months in treatment for her mental health.

Bynes shared that she is “getting [her] Bachelor’s degree from FIDM [Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising]” and has been “taking online classes” with the hopes of “trying to get a 4.0 GPA.”

“Looking forward to starting my online store in the future #goals,” she added of her career down the line.

Bynes noted that she “spent the last 2 months in treatment” where she “worked on coping skills to help with [her] social anxiety that caused [her] to drop out of school months ago.”

Now, the star added, she is “back on track and doing well!”

“I’m now living in transitional living and doing therapy during the week,” she said.

As for her relationship status, the actress wrote, “still engaged to tha love of my life Paul ?.”

News of the couple getting back together comes two months after PEOPLE confirmed that Bynes and Michael, 28, had what would be a short-lived split after their engagement.

Bynes first announced her engagement to Paul Michael, a man she met at her former sober living home in late 2019, on Valentine’s Day. “Hope you’re all staying safe! Love y’all! ??,” she concluded the update.

In mid-March, both Michael and Bynes announced on Instagram that they were expecting their first child together in posts that have since been deleted from social media.

“Baby in the making,” Michael captioned the post. At the time, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Bynes was pregnant.

Earlier this month, however, her lawyer David Esquibias said the actress is not expecting a baby with her partner.

Hours after Bynes and Michael’s respective pregnancy announcements, Esquibias released a statement to PEOPLE asking for privacy on behalf of the former actress as she sought “treatment for ongoing mental health issues.”

Her lawyer added that Bynes is currently “sheltering at a safe environment” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, on March 1, Bynes celebrated a year and two months of sobriety, sharing a pair of photos with two unidentified men on Instagram.

The What A Girl Wants star sought help in January 2019 after months of struggles that followed her decision to step back into the public eye.

Amanda Bynes‘ lawyer, David Esquibias, says the actress is not pregnant, nearly two months after she announced that she was expecting a child with fiancé Paul Michael.

The former Nickelodeon star, 33, confirmed via Instagram that she had a “baby on board” on March 17. At the time, Michael posted an identical announcement, sharing an old selfie of himself with the Easy A actress. He also posted a photo of their child’s first ultrasound with Bynes’ name listed on the image.

Bynes’ pregnancy news came shortly after she split from her fiancé, who proposed to her on Valentine’s Day this year. Days before their March 8 breakup, the Sydney White star was ordered to seek treatment at a mental health facility by the judge overseeing her conservatorship case. At the time, Bynes reportedly agreed to the terms but refused to check herself into a treatment center after leaving the courthouse. Esquibias later noted that the She’s the Man star would be getting professional care for her “ongoing mental health issues.”

“She is not living in a sober living facility,” he tells Us Weekly exclusively. “She’s sheltering at a safe environment.”

The All That alum has been under a conservatorship since 2014, when she suffered a public breakdown and had trouble with substance abuse. Four years later, she opened up about her hardships and reflected on her retirement from acting in a revealing interview with magazine.

“I just had no purpose in life. I’d been my whole life and [now] I was doing nothing,” she said in 2018. “I had a lot of time on my hands and I would ‘wake and bake’ and literally be all day long. … [I was] hanging out with a seedier crowd and I isolated a lot … I got into my drug usage and it became a dark, sad world for me.”

Despite her struggles, Bynes admitted that she learned a lot from the time she spent in treatment and offered some words of wisdom for anyone who might be experiencing similar problems.

“My to anyone who is struggling with substance abuse would be to be careful because drugs can take a hold of your life,” she told the publication. “ is different, obviously, but for me, the mixture of marijuana and whatever other drugs and sometimes messed up my brain. It made me a completely different person.”

Amanda Bynes is seeking treatment for her mental health.

An attorney for Bynes confirmed the news to Fox News in a statement on Wednesday.

“Any reports that Amanda is suffering from drug or alcohol addiction issues are completely false. She is seeking treatment for ongoing mental health issues,” attorney David A. Esquibias told us.

“We ask for privacy during this time, and for any speculation about her personal life from the public and the media to cease so Amanda can focus on getting better.”

Just one day before, Bynes had posted – and deleted – a pregnancy announcement including an ultrasound with her name on it.

“Baby on board!” read the caption.

The news of Bynes’ pregnancy came after a brief split from her fiancé Paul Michael last month, which was followed the next day with a photo of herself and Michael cuddled up.

The caption said, “My love,” with a heart emoji.

Bynes first announced her engagement to Michael on Valentine’s Day.

Late last year, Bynes captured the public’s attention when she revealed a face tattoo of a heart on her cheek weeks after reportedly leaving a sober living facility.

Baby on board! Amanda Bynes is pregnant with her first child — the news comes after she reunited with her fiancé Paul Michael hours after calling off their engagement.

The former Nickelodeon star’s ex-fiancé, who she split from on March 8 after getting engaged in February, announced that the two were going to be parents by posting two photos via Instagram on Tuesday, March 17.

“Baby in the making,” he captioned an old selfie of the pair. He also shared a second photo of their baby’s first ultrasound with Bynes’ name listed on the image.

“Baby on board,” the Sydney White star, 33, wrote via Instagram on the same sonogram photo.

A source confirms the news to Us Weekly exclusively: “Amanda is just barely pregnant and she is very happy.”

Earlier in the day, the actress was spotted at an OBGYN’s office in Los Angeles, a source told Us exclusively. The Hairspray actress was in the waiting room with a female friend, according to the eyewitness.

The What a Girl Wants star was there to have an ultrasound, the insider added. “[The friends] were chatting about what to expect” during the visit.

“She seemed excited,” the insider revealed, noting that Michael was not at the appointment. “She was dressed casual and keeping a low profile. The lobby was pretty empty so no one bugged her.”

The Easy A actress last posted a photo with her former flame via Instagram on March 9, one day after taking down all of the photos of herself with Michael. “My love,” Bynes wrote alongside the image with a black heart emoji.

Following the couple’s split, Michael told In Touch that the California native is still his “best friend.”

Shortly after Us confirmed the rift, a source admitted that she was “really upset” about the breakup and she wasn’t “taking it well at all.”

“Paul realized the relationship just couldn’t go forward because of the obstacles of the conservatorship and Amanda must live at a sober living facility,” the source added.

The insider explained that Michael had reservations about their romance after popping the question because of the former child star’s complicated conservatorship agreement that she’s been under since 2014.

After her March 5 conservatorship meeting with a judge, Bynes was ordered to seek psychiatric care, Us confirmed on March 9.

She reportedly agreed to enter a mental health treatment facility, but then refused to check herself in after leaving the courthouse.

Amanda Bynes and Paul Michael are still together, according to Michael himself.

Bynes’ fiancé spoke to Page Six on Tuesday and said they’re still engaged despite appearances, as someone “hacked” their Instagram accounts and removed their photos.

“Both of our instas got hacked and someone deleted our pictures and sent dms [direct messages] saying we broke up,” Michael told us. “We never broke up and weren’t able to log into our instagrams until last night.”

When asked why a hacker would delete only photos of the couple and nothing else, Michael said, “Assumably to make it seem like we broke up.”

Despite the conspiracy, Michael emphasized that he and the “She’s the Man” star “have been together for six months and didn’t break up.”

Michael also clarified the reports that Bynes, 33, was ordered to a psychiatric facility.

“She’s not ordered to go to a hospital. She’s ordered to go to a residential treatment, which is called inpatient, but she’s not in a hospital,” he explained.

“She is affected by trauma from her childhood. The anxiety made her drop out of school and the judge ordered her to work on that in residential treatment,” he continued, without further explaining her “trauma.”

Michael added that his fiancée goes to outpatient group therapy and trauma therapy during the day, which Bynes previously revealed cost $5,200 per month.

“She’s allowed to come and go as long as she goes to therapy,” he continued, adding that she’ll return to FIDM to receive her Bachelor’s degree. Currently, Bynes has an Associate of Art degree from the fashion-design school.

“She’s doing really well, besides anxiety and trauma,” he said.

A rep for Bynes didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

Amanda Bynes has been ordered to enter a psychiatric facility after the judge in her conservatorship case met with her and the Bynes family, including her fiance, which is what sparked the end of her 3-week engagement.

Sources close to the situation tell us, secret court hearing was held last Thursday where all parties in the conservatorship case, including Amanda’s parents, went in front of the judge in the case. The hearing included Bynes’ fiance, a student named Paul Michael, who she met in AA.

But, after agreeing to enter the facility, Amanda is now refusing to go…and her family are weighing their options.

Amanda’s fiance was also present for the hearing, and details of their engagement and her current mental state were discussed during the session.

After hearing the details, the judge in the case ordered Amanda to be placed into a psychiatric facility. She was not taken straight from the courthouse, because Bynes agreed to enter the facility.

But, the actress was supposed to check herself into the live-in facility over the weekend, but never showed up. At this point, we’re told she is refusing to cooperate. It’s unclear what the next steps will be taken to ensure her getting the mental health treatment she needs.

Our sources say Amanda’s fiance “freaked out” after hearing and seeing details of the situation during the court hearing, and is “freaking out now” realizing how bad off she is, and how this may be a threat to his sobriety.

We’re told the couple’s break up was prompted by Paul not wanted to do anything that would get him in trouble with the judge or others in this case.

At this point, Paul is telling friends, he doesn’t want to be blamed for her current mental health being in such bad shape, or for it getting worse over time. After the court hearing, we’re told he realized many of the details of her life she was saying to him during their relationship was not really happening.

As for the next step, Amanda seems to be spiraling out of control and she needs to be hospitalized in the facility as soon as possible. But, her family is trying to convince her at this point to not go back on her word to the judge to enter the facility.

If she continues to refuse, other steps may be taken to ensure her safety.
